Frail 97-Year-Old Ah Ma Resells Fruits At Thomson Condo Despite Failing Hearing & Vision

97-Year-Old Ah Ma Sells Fruits Outside Thomson V Two Condo

Update (1 Nov, 5:30pm): Some netizens have reached out to say that the ah ma is doing this as a hobby as she has filial sons who support her. We will update this story if confirmation is received.

On Friday (1 Nov), a netizen named Samuel allegedly spotted an 97-year-old ah ma reselling fruits at a Thomson condo.

He took to Facebook on the same day, urging fellow Singaporeans to buy fruits from the elderly woman to support her business.

We summarise the Facebook post below.

Resells fruits bought from Sheng Shiong supermarket at Thomson Condo

According to the post, the ah ma would purchase fruits from a Sheng Shiong outlet and resell it at the condo.

Despite knowing the slightly higher prices might be off-putting to some, the elderly woman chose to be honest and transparent about what she is doing.

However, most people prefer saving a bit more cash, apparently choosing instead to get their fruits directly from the supermarket. That sadly left the poor ah ma with few customers.

She blames herself when she can’t remember faces

Samuel also shared that the ah ma‘s health and memory are deteriorating, as a result of her old age.

Hence she would, on multiple occasions, forget the people who purchase fruits from her, and this is something she blames herself for.

However, the ah ma mentioned that she is grateful and happy whenever someone comes to support her ‘small business’.

Let us play our part by supporting this ah ma

Here’s where the ah ma’s stall is located at, should you wish to support her.

Location: 1st floor of Thomson V Two Condo
Address: 11 Sin Ming Road, Singapore 575629
Opening hours: 11am-5pm (Fri-Sun only)

If you wish, you can visit her and buy some fruits from her. Otherwise, we believe blessing her with a drink or a meal is will also help to make her day that little bit better.
