Changi Airport Is Ranked #1 Airport Globally For 8th Year Running
Even Covid-19 can’t stop Singapore’s beloved Changi Airport from being the best airport in the world for 8 years running.
Skytrax rated Changi Airport #1 in their list of The World’s Top 10 Airports of 2020, followed by Tokyo Haneda Airport and Hamad International in Qatar.

Even despite the Covid-19 outbreak halting most international travel, Changi Airport remains beloved.
High level of consistency for customers makes Changi Airport world’s best
The list is ranked by customer surveys and from the results, the consensus is clear: travellers love Changi and its new addition, the Jewel.
Skytrax CEO Mr Edward Plaisted praised its “fantastic level of consistency” in winning the award for its eighth year running.
Indeed, having Jewel has only increased the appeal of the airport, as it serves over 65 million passengers a year.
To delight this many people a year sounds remarkable — that’s several times the number of inhabitants in Singapore.
But that’s exactly what Changi Airport has done, year on year, even during the Covid-19 crisis.
Challenging year, but looking to better times
Mr Lee Seow Hiang, CEO of Changi Airport Group mentions that it’s been a “challenging year”, which is perhaps a bit of an understatement.
Speaking from the Jewel indoor waterfall with the award beside him, there’s probably no better place to accept an award.
Despite travel bans across the globe, the airport remains open and have stepped up efforts to ensure that everyone there is safe.
As one of the industries worst-hit by Covid-19, the hope by Mr Lee is that there’ll be a good end to the crisis, and soon.
We can’t wait, indeed.
Less full than before, but no less bustling
Changi Airport might be less full than it used to be, but it’s certainly still a hub.
Cargo operations still continue, and the airport itself is still running with the same efficiency.
Kudos to them for defending their crown, one we hope won’t be relinquished any time soon.
Although the travel industry will never be the same, we’re sure that those at Changi Airport will not take this as a sign to lower their high standards.
