16-year-old student falls to his death in Malaysia
In Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, a 16-year-old student has died after falling from the fourth floor of his school building.
The incident occurred at around 6am today (7 Nov) at Chung Hua High School, reports Oriental Daily.
Upon arrival, the paramedics pronounced the boy dead at the scene — stating that he had died from his head injuries.
School issues statement, says it will provide counseling to students
Following the tragic incident, Chung Hua High School released a statement announcing the death.
It shared that the deceased was a freshman who had fallen from a building after arriving at school.
The school further stated that it “immediately” contacted an ambulance after the fall. However, the paramedics “confirmed that the student had no vital signs.”
“At present, the incident is being investigated in detail by the police, and the school will fully cooperate with the investigation of relevant departments,” read the statement.
Meanwhile, its counselors will be providing psychological counseling to students to help them cope with the tragedy.
“The school is deeply saddened and regretful about the student’s death and would like to extend its sincerest condolences and care to his family. In addition, the school will do its utmost to assist the family in handling the aftermath.”
In response to queries from The Star, Seremban police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din said that the police have received a report from the school on the matter.
A post-mortem will also be conducted on the boy’s remains to establish his cause of death.
