Car Driver On CTE Called Out For Dangerous Driving
In light of a recent fatal accident on the Tampines Expressway (TPE) that claimed the life of a woman, it’s worrying to see more instances of reckless driving in Singapore.
On Monday (20 Feb) morning, a driver on the Central Expressway (CTE) was filmed haphazardly switching lanes without signalling.
They did so multiple times in the span of a minute.
At one point, they even appeared to be tailgating two motorcyclists. Another road user captured the concerning incident with their dash cam.
Driver switches lanes abruptly without signalling
The recording of the incident was posted on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page on Tuesday (21 Feb).
According to the caption, the incident occurred at 9.30am the day before.
In the opening seconds of the video, a motorcyclist is seen approaching two cars between the rightmost and second lanes.

The motorcyclist then suddenly brakes alongside the car on their left.
Without signalling, the grey Toyota abruptly moves from the second lane to the first lane. This forces the motorcyclist to ride precariously on the edge of the road.

In another dangerous move, the driver then switches back to the second lane, narrowly avoiding a collision with an oncoming motorcyclist.

As the video progresses, the car appears to pursue the two motorcyclists, but not before swerving in between lanes a few more times.
Dangerous driver gets called out for reckless driving
In response to the video, many Facebook users expressed their disbelief and concern.
One commenter wondered if the driver could have been under the influence.

The user went on to say that such driving could be fatal.
Another commenter echoed their sentiments and appealed to the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Land Transport Authority (LTA) to take action.

On the other hand, someone pointed out that the motorcyclist was not riding safely either.
No injuries reported
Despite the worrying footage of the dangerous driver on the CTE, all the motorists involved were lucky to have escaped unscathed.
Thankfully, no one was hurt by the driver’s irresponsible actions.
