JEM FairPrice Xtra & Pioneer Mall Listed As Places Visited By Covid-19 Cases

JEM & Pioneer Mall Added To List Of Places Visited By Covid-19 Cases

The Ministry of Health (MOH) added 2 places to the list visited by Covid-19 cases while they were infectious on Thursday (11 Jun). They are both located in the West: FairPrice Xtra at JEM in Jurong East, as well as Pioneer Mall, located in Jurong West.

Patients had visited these venues on 6 and 8 Jun respectively.

Cases visited places during morning and afternoon

The case who visited FairPrice Xtra at JEM did so on Saturday (6 Jun) from 3-4pm. While it was a weekend, it can hardly be said to be a peak hour.

Likewise, the other patient visited Pioneer Mall on 8 Jun from 9-10.15am.

MOH advises those who were in the same location during these timings to monitor their health for 14 days after their visit.

They should see a doctor if they feel unwell or develop symptoms related to Covid-19, such as a dry cough, sore throat, runny nose, fever, or a loss of sense of taste or smell.

No need to avoid JEM and Pioneer Mall

Only those present in the same location at the same time should monitor their health. Meanwhile, people do not have to avoid these locations as the premises will have been cleaned and sanitised.

Regardless, as there are still undetected cases in the community, we should still practice vigilance as well as social responsibility. Do try to go outdoors during off-peak hours, and stay at home as much as possible.

The situation may be easing up but in no way are we out of the crisis yet. Let’s just err on the side of caution and continue to be vigilant.
