Uncle gets hit by truck in Ubi while riding on PMA on 26 Nov
A man on a Personal Mobility Aid (PMA) recently got knocked over by a truck in Ubi.
According to the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page, which posted footage of the collision, the incident happened at about 3.07pm on Tuesday (26 Nov).
At the start of the video, a man was seen riding along a footpath.
He then moved to cross a small road leading into Block 3015 of the Kampong Ubi Industrial Estate.
As he made his way across the building, the PMA rider seemingly failed to notice a large white truck that was driving onto Ubi Road 1.
The uncle only spotted the vehicle when he was halfway across the building and appeared to hit the brakes in a moment of panic.
Shortly after, the truck collided with the side of the PMA, pushing it along for a second before running it over and knocking the man down.
The PMA rider hurriedly slapped his hand against the truck in an attempt to alert the driver.
Fortunately for him, the truck quickly stopped.
Still, the man remained stuck on his trapped PMA.
The truck eventually reversed after the man slapped the vehicle several more times.
Shortly after, the truck driver and a nearby pedestrian came over to assist the PMA rider.
PMA rider refused conveyance to hospital
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told MS News that they were alerted to the accident at about 3.15pm.
Paramedics assessed the victim for minor injuries but he refused conveyance to the hospital.
The police confirmed that a 76-year-old rider of a Personal Mobility Device (PMD) sustained minor injuries.
Police investigations are ongoing.
