Local Artist Creates Pixel Artwork Of Singapore
25-year-old Singaporean artist, Elvin Ong, creates pixel art of iconic Singapore scenes that will definitely tug at your heartstrings.
The local artist shared the 7 artworks on his own Tumblr and Facebook page, showing facets of his hometown with a tinge of nostalgia.
Elvin says he loves looking at pixellated 8-bit animation and timeless photos of Singapore.
Therefore, he attempted to capture the essence of both in his artwork, which is almost guaranteed to hit you right in the feels.

The artist recreated scenes from his own childhood home, highlighting Singapore’s iconic old point blocks in the heartlands.

He also provided an animated glimpse of Singapore in the past.

Moving forward, his art also features some of the city’s classic skyline, with clouds looming over the spectacular ‘The Gateway’ buildings.

Elvin alluded to wanting to create pixel art for a while, thus embarking a “passion project on the side” just for fun.
