7 sent to hospital in 3-vehicle accident along Tuas West Road

A collision involving three vehicles at the junction of Tuas West Road and Pioneer Road on Wednesday (23 Oct) left seven people injured.

The accident, which occurred at around 5.40pm, involved a bus, a lorry, and a motorcycle.

Footage of the aftermath, as reported by Lianhe Zaobao, showed a motorcyclist lying on the ground near the wrecked bus, with shattered glass scattered across the road.

Some images also captured the front of the bus badly damaged from the collision.

7 taken to hospital in conscious conditions

Speaking to MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that it was alerted to the collision along Tuas West Road.

Six individuals were conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, while one other person was sent to the National University Hospital (NUH).

An additional person was assessed for minor injuries by an SCDF paramedic but declined to be taken to the hospital.

Responding to MS News’ inquiries, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) also confirmed the incident at the junction of Tuas Avenue 20 and Pioneer Road.

It stated that five bus passengers aged between 31 and 69, a 39-year-old male lorry driver, and a 31-year-old male motorcyclist were sent to the hospital conscious.

Police investigations are ongoing.
