Australian man arrested after twice threatening to crash plane at Changi Airport
Police arrested an Australian man at Changi Airport for threatening to crash a plane.
The incident occurred on 23 Nov, involving a 36-year-old passenger, who boarded a flight departing Changi Airport.

Told cabin crew he wanted to crash plane
While boarding, he allegedly told the cabin crew that he wanted to crash the airplane.
He was disembarked from the flight and brought into a holding room.
There, he allegedly made the same threat again.
The man faces charges on 9 Dec for two counts of using threatening words to cause alarm, under Section 4(2) of the Protection from Harassment Act 2014.
If found guilty, the judge may sentence him to a fine of up to S$5,000 for each charge.
False threats come at a cost
“The police treats all security threats seriously and will not hesitate to take action against anyone who causes public alarm with false threats.”
The police added that making false threats come at a cost, due to the deployment of public resources to deal with the supposed incident.
Furthermore, it causes fear and inconvenience to members of the public.
