Punggol Coast MRT Opening On North East Line In 2023

In 2017, Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced their plans to open a brand new MRT station – Punggol Coast – along the North East Line.

They have now confirmed the plan and that the station should open by 2023.

LTA looking for artists to design the new MRT station

Some of you may have noticed certain MRT stations featuring their own sets of unique murals. The upcoming Punggol Coast station will be one of them.

According to an Instagram post by LTA, they are currently looking for artists to take part in the Art in Transit (AIT) programme, which invites talented individuals to enhance the aesthetics of places like MRT stations.

Submissions close on 19 Dec

If you’d like to unleash your creativity and display your artwork in the train station, send your CV and portfolio to LTA by 19 Dec, 12pm.

Here are the formats your file should be in:

  • Portfolio — PDF format
  • CV — Include NRIC & contact details

Once done, email your files to lta-art@lta.gov.sg with the header ” Punggol Coast Station Public Call for Artists“.

Even if you’ve applied for AIT programmes in the previous years, you are required to register again.

Note: This application is eligible for Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

Having your artwork displayed across the walls of an MRT station is something to be extremely proud of. Good luck!
