Wedding Photos Gone Wrong
The photos were terrible, yes. But did the newly weds get what they deserve for buying a “Bao ka liao” package? We’re going to play Devil’s advocate here and say – perhaps.
Most people do not understand the value of photographers. “How hard is it to hold a camera and take pictures?” That’s what they may think to themselves.
Some try to get friends to do photography for free. Some try to trade their services for ‘exposure’. Some expect high quality photos for low prices. Some aren’t even aware of the prices.
We hear the couple bought a wedding package for $3,000 on 933 radio. I’m not sure what the package included, but I’m guessing wedding dress rental, make-up and maybe even the venue and wedding solemnizer. It does sound below the market rate for a reputable bridal shop. The market rate is 1-3k for wedding photography alone, with 1k being on the low-end.
The couple may be just unaware they were paying well below market rate and therefore expected much more from the photos.
They also probably haven’t seen this post just last month by Mr Brown.
Yes, for your once-in-a-lifetime wedding, lowball a photographer trying to make a living, for free services….

Lesson of the day – never scrimp and save on your wedding if you want everything to be nothing short of a blissful day. Here’s a funny comment we spotted from that thread.
Wedding packages too good to be true?
Kudos to the couple who took it well instead of getting angry at the badly taken photographs. If you haven’t seen them already, the bride shared them on her Facebook page.
Perhaps some photographer really took the advice on the Facebook post above and decided to troll the newly weds.
Here’s what probably was on his mind.

If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys
Many were appalled at how these wedding photographs. But the only conclusion people seem to have now is how they deserved better. Perhaps, the couple just got what they paid for.
Their bao ka liao package was too good to be true and for the firm to save costs, they hired a terrible photographer for the newlyweds.
Perhaps this is the reason why the bride was not too angry at how her wedding photographs turned out. Just some food for thought.
