6-Year-Old Lee Jeong Woo Solves Complex Math Problems On YouTube
Proving Euler’s Formula at 6 years old? Hardly a challenge. Solving a problem from the MIT Integration Bee under 15 minutes? As easy as rolling a toy truck over sand.
But what sets Lee Jeong Woo apart is that he seems to enjoy them. The math prodigy regularly uploads videos of himself proving and solving problems more complex than a strained relationship where both parties don’t really like each other but also can’t bear to be alone. Unless you have a foundation in math, it’ll be quite difficult to understand what Jeong Woo is writing. We’re not trying to demean anyone here, just, you know, it’s really high-level mathematics.
And here he is doing something with the Gamma Function, which we’re really not sure about.
According to the YouTube page name, Jeong Woo is still in kindergarten. We’re not sure if anyone in his class shares a similar hobby.
The next Terence Tao?
Math genius Terence Tao scored 760 for the SAT math section when he was 9 and took gold in the math olympiad at 13. He went on to earn a PhD in math from Princeton at the age of 21. Three years later, he became a professor at UCLA.
Young Jeong Woo could just be on his way to becoming the next Terence Tao. We don’t know how difficult the mathematics he is solving is compared to the ones Terence was solving at 6, but there seems to be a chance.
