Michelle Yeoh & Husband Welcome Grandchild On New Year’s Day
Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh and her family kicked off the new year with the best news possible.
The 61-year-old and her husband, French motor racing executive Jean Todt, welcomed the birth of their grandchild on Monday (1 Jan).
Yeoh announced the arrival via an Instagram post the day after. However, its cryptic nature caused some minor confusion over whether the baby was hers.
Hours later, she posted an update clarifying that the boy is, in fact, the child of her stepson, Nicolas Todt.

On Tuesday (2 Jan), Yeoh shared the arrival of “a little miracle” on the first day of the year in a post on Instagram.
It was a photograph of what seemed to be the actress’ hand gently holding the tiny foot of a newborn baby.
However, the post appeared to confuse some users as it was not clear who the parents of the child were.
About three hours later, Yeoh clarified via another Instagram post that she and Todt are now “the happiest and proudest Grandparents”.
She thanked her stepson Nicolas — Todt’s son from a previous marriage — and his wife Darina before sharing the baby’s name, Maxime.

Yeoh later took to Facebook to share more photographs of the happy occasion.
She simply captioned this post, “Love love love”, along with a few heart emojis.
It included a family photo of the new parents and grandparents at the hospital, with the child cradled up against his mother’s chest.
Another picture saw the film star carrying the baby in her arms as she gazed at her grandchild lovingly.
There was also a photo of the elder Todt playing with Maxime while the latter was lying snugly in his father’s embrace.
Nicolas, who is the agent of Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, also shared a few photos of his own and confirmed that both mother and son are well.
