Avengers: Endgame & Naruto Soundtracks Played During Armoured Vehicle Drive-In During NDP 2019
Avengers and Naruto fans who watched this year’s NDP parade would surely have been in for a treat.
That’s because Original Soundtracks (OSTs) from both series were used during the parade and with rather stellar results.
Observant viewers who tuned in to the parade instantly recognised the tunes and took to social media to share their findings.
The Avengers: Endgame and Naruto theme songs can be heard at the 1:43:44 and 1:44:48 mark of this video respectively.
Avengers and Naruto soundtracks paid homage to the pioneer batch of SAF
The soundtracks were played during the second act of the parade titled ‘Our Strength, One Nation Strong And Free’.
Brigadier General (Retired) Colin Theseira, who was part of the very first mobile column fondly recounted the Perseverance and tenacity of the pioneer batch of SAF servicemen who enlisted in 1966.
While the inspiring nature of the story would have touched many, it was made even more moving when accompanied by ‘Portals’ from the Avengers: Endgame soundtrack.
This is the same soundtrack that’s played when the Avengers assemble to engage in an all-out war with Thanos.
Then, as the SAF’s mobile column drove past the live audience, the main theme from the Naruto Shippuden anime series can be heard, highlighting the grandeur of the armoured vehicles on display.
Turns out, this isn’t the first time that a Naruto OST was used at an NDP.
In 2015, another epic Naruto OST – Departure To The Front Lines – was used when the mobile column was on display at the NDP.
The mobile column will also be making appearances at various heartlands today (10 Aug), if you missed the NDP or would prefer to see the vehicles in person.
Here’s more information on the routes that they’ll be taking.
Would you like to hear other OSTs used during NDP?
Like most things in life, opinions on the OSTs being used during the NDP was split. One in particular sarcastically described the NDP budget as being “cray”.
That said, we think the OSTs fit in pretty well and brought out the toughness of our pioneer SAF servicemen.
Would you like to hear other OSTs in future NDPs? If so, from which TV shows or movies? Share them in the comments below.
