3 injured after multi-vehicle accident on SLE, motorcyclist & pillion sent flying

SLE accident on 26 Oct injures 3 including rider & pillion

Three individuals were conveyed to the hospital after a chain collision along Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Saturday (26 Oct) morning.

The accident, which happened near Bukit Timah, involved two cars, two motorcycles, and a taxi.

Dashcam footage shared in two posts on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page suggested that there were two phases to the accident.

One of the videos showed a motorcyclist and his pillion being clipped by a fast-moving car.

Rider & pillion sent flying

At the start of the video, nothing seems amiss as the dashcam vehicle travelled along the first lane.

Suddenly, a white car along the middle lane came to an abrupt stop, forcing a red taxi and motorcycle travelling behind to brake as well.

While the taxi and motorcycle managed to come to a stop, that wasn’t the case for a black Hyundai travelling behind them.

Unable to stop in time, the Hyundai SUV ploughed into the motorcycle, sending the rider and pillion flying.

The Hyundai vehicle subsequently veered into the first lane.

As the dashcam vehicle got closer to the site of the accident, it became clear why the white vehicle came to an abrupt stop — there had been a separate accident involving another motorcycle.

A motorcyclist in black attire was seen hobbling from the toppled motorbike.

A separate video uploaded to the Facebook group showed that the man had been knocked down by a lane-changing car.

3 individuals conveyed to hospital

In response to MS News‘ queries, an SCDF spokesperson said that they were alerted to the incident at about 9.35am.

The collision took place along SLE towards BKE before Turf Club Avenue exit.

In a separate statement, the police shared that two male car drivers, aged 27 and 49, are assisting with investigations.

The three individuals who were conveyed conscious to Woodlands Health Campus were a 29-year-old male motorcyclist, a 31-year-old male motorcyclist, and a 40-year-old female pillion rider.

Police investigations are ongoing.
