SPCA Appeals For Information On Abandoned Dog In Jurong West, Offers $1k For Useful Leads

SPCA Offering $1k Reward For Those With Information On Abandoned Dog In Jurong West

Most pet owners dote on their fur kids, loving them like their own children. However, there are pet owners who treat their pets like toys they can discard when old or ‘faulty’. On 9 Dec, a dog that seemed to be abandoned was found in a Fendi paper bag in Jurong West.

Fortunately, the dog is now with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone who can provide information on the case.

$1,000 reward for information

SPCA is currently appealing for any information that will “[lead] to the arrest and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for this act”, and offering a $1,000 reward.

Under the Animal and Birds Act, those who are found guilty of cruelty to animals face a jail term of up to 18 months, a $15,000 fine, or both. Abandonment of pets carries a fine not exceeding $40,000 and a jail term of not more than 2 years for the first offence.
