They have also reiterated roadshow guidelines to their representatives so that they will conduct themselves to the highest standard of professionalism.

Agent takes back balloon from child as mum doesn’t fit customer profile

To jog your memory, the Tampines balloon incident happened at Century Square on 10 Jun.

Insurance Agent In Tampines Allegedly Takes Balloon Back From Child As Mum Doesn’t Fit Customer Profile

A mother and her 2-year-old daughter were walking in the mall’s vicinity when a lady approached the child with a balloon.

Prior to the exchange, the mother noticed the lady coming from an AIA roadshow booth nearby, and understood that she was an insurance agent.

Even so, she proceeded to answer the agent’s series of questions. Afterwards, however, the agent took the balloon back from her child, allegedly on the grounds that she did not fit her customer profile.

Hope agents act more professionally moving forward

While this incident may not reflect well on AIA, we must remember that one bad agent is not representative of the entire company.

Hopefully, now that they’ve addressed the matter, such incidents won’t happen again.

We also hope that they’ve indeed reached out to the mother and daughter to offer an apology. Perhaps a free balloon to make up for what happened would be nice too.
