Blind Massage Services Affected By Closures, Parlour Seeks Goodwill Donations

Blind Massage Services Closes Due To Covid-19, Seek Goodwill Donations From Customers

During the ‘Circuit Breaker’ (CB), many local businesses were forced to temporarily cease operations to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Blind Massage Services (BMS), which employs visually-impaired staff, is one of such establishments. Unable to operate, the massage parlour and the staff they hire are facing an uncertain future.

Hence, they are reaching out to customers for goodwill donations to tide them through these difficult times.

Massage parlour closed since April

BMS is a massage parlour that supports visually-impaired masseurs who are skilled in massage therapy.

Their Tanjong Pagar Plaza outlet is well-known among Singaporeans for their superb services and affordable prices.

However, the current situation has mandated their closure since April and the shop is facing financial difficulties as a result.

Blind Massage Services asks for donations from customers

In the Facebook post, they stated that the hiatus has made it hard for them to meet their “contractual commitments”.

Therefore, BMS has since started a campaign, hoping that customers can help them through this trying period.

Ms Seet Wee Sin, the founder of the massage parlour, shared that it remains uncertain when they are allowed to operate again, which might be “months away”.

If forced to shut down, their team of visually-impaired therapists might have to “start from ground zero” and seek jobs in other massage parlours, which are also closed due to the CB.

Donations help them tide through the year

Ms Seet emphasises that the money donated will be used to fulfil the shop’s basic needs for the year.

According to him, this is a “last resort” to salvage the business and secure its reopening when the virus dies down.

BMS has already raised more than $4,000 thus far and hopes to reach its goal of $30,000 to help keep them afloat.

Support Blind Massage Services

If you wish to extend a helping hand, consider making a donation via their campaign. Donations of any amount are welcomed.

Alternatively, you can keep a lookout for their potential reopening dates on their Facebook page and frequent the store to show your support once they’re allowed to operate again.
