Boss buys cars for employees to recognise their contributions

On Monday (11 Nov), four long-time employees of a Japanese restaurant and KTV business in Malaysia received a welcome surprise from their boss.

The owner of the business gifted each of them a luxury car, spending more than 1.8 million ringgit (~ S$541,455) on these four cars alone.

Employees who were promoted — even foreigners — also received the additional bonus of a new car. The car models included Audi, Toyota, Honda, and Proton, according to China Press.

4 senior employees gifted with BMW Series 6

When asked why he chose BMW cars instead of other brands, Mr Huang said BMW is a symbol of status. It also offers both comfort and an excellent driving experience.

Additionally, he mentioned the company would cover the cost of driving license exams for some foreign workers, as they do not have licenses to drive the cars they received.

One employee received BMW car for the second time

According to China Press, 34-year-old Lai Biyou (name transliterated from Chinese) was one of the four lucky employees who received the BMW sedan.

Mr Lai had travelled from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru with his family to attend the ceremony.

He shared that it was his second time getting a BMW car, adding that he received one seven years ago.

Mr Lai noted that the generous gift was a form of recognition and encouragement from the company and the boss.

In addition to the presentation ceremony and champagne celebration, the boss had organised a birthday celebration for him.

Mr Huang said the gifting ceremony was planned to take place on 11 Nov since it coincided with Mr Lai’s birthday. The company chose to present the cars on this date in his honour.
