2 boys rescue 17-year-old girl who fell into river in Thailand
Two 11-year-old boys in Thailand earned praise on social media after rescuing a girl who jumped into the Chao Phraya River
At about 7.30pm on Friday (22 Nov), a local rescue team were alerted to the incident involving a 17-year-old girl who attempted to take her life.
The girl reportedly jumped off Krung Thep Bridge into the Chao Phraya River.
Fortunately, two boys from a local school witnessed the incident and jumped into the river to rescue her, according to Ruamkatanyu Foundation.
After arriving at the scene, one of the officers from the rescue foundation filmed and praised the pair for their brave actions before sharing their deed on Facebook.
The victim was later sent to a hospital.
Netizens praise boys for courageous acts
Understandbly, many netizens praised the two boys for their bravery.
However, some expressed concerns over their own safety, claiming the victim may drag their rescuers underwater.
Some opined the school should grant both boys a reward or a certificate to honour their good deeds.
One netizen even claimed that they were the victim in the incident, and asked for the boy’s contact information to thank them.
