‘Parent’ makes crying child run alongside moving car in China

An outrageous video has recently circulated on Chinese social media. In the video, a car was spotted on the streets of Zhejiang Province, China, with a child beside it.

The boy could be seen running and crying while holding onto the door handle of the moving vehicle.

Child seen running outside car

Chinese media reported that the incident happened on the evening of 27 Nov, according to Oriental Daily News Malaysia.

A netizen posted the video on Weibo, saying that they saw a moving car with a child outside pulling on the door handle.

The boy was heard crying and saying in between sobs: “I don’t want to.”

The driver in the video started and stopped the car three times before finally letting the child into the car.

Relationship between driver & child unclear

It is unclear whether the driver of the car and the child are related as no further details had been provided in the video.

It is also unclear whether the driver had known that the child was chasing the car.

After the incident came to light, most netizens believed that the driver was the child’s parent and criticised their behaviour as dangerous and irresponsible.

The eyewitness who caught the incident on video called the driver’s behaviour as dangerous, saying that children should not be treated this way.

Netizens echoed this sentiment. Some said that the police should have been informed and the driver’s license revoked.

Others felt that the driver was not qualified to be a parent and that parents should be ‘certified’ before being allowed to have children.
