Dog in Thailand waits over 2 days for owner who fled after causing traffic accident
A mixed-breed dog waited in the blazing sun for two days after its owner fled the scene of a fatal traffic accident.
According to Khaosod, the traffic accident occurred in the early hours of 20 Nov. Since then, the loyal pup has refused to budge from the back of the truck.
Owner flees from scene of fatal accident
On Wednesday (20 Nov), the 6-wheeler truck collided with a passenger van in Udon Thani, Thailand. The collision killed one and injured eight others.
The truck driver fled the scene after the accident, leaving behind his truck and dog.
For over two days, the truck has sat in a police station parking lot. And in a display of utter loyalty, the dog has refused to leave the back of the truck despite the blazing heat.
Locals build shade and offer refreshments for loyal dog
Locals residing near the police station felt sorry for the poor dog suffering in the sun. They built a small tent to provide shade for the canine and even left food and water.
One of them told Khaosod that when they tried to move the dog from the truck, it would growl to keep them away.
Locals reportedly plan on easing the dog out and take care of it if the owner doesn’t return.
