Truck on ECP shared path ‘suddenly appeared’, says pedestrian
A video showing a garbage truck moving at speed along a shared pedestrian-cyclist path at East Coast Park (ECP) has attracted attention for being a danger to the public.

TikTok user @nicklawj alleged that the near-miss incident occurred on 22 March at 9.11pm.

In the video, the garbage truck was seen travelling along the shared path, an area typically used by joggers and cyclists.
The Original Poster (OP) also claimed that the vehicle approached from behind without any warning.

“A truck suddenly appeared behind us on the shared path — no horn, no warning, and it was fast,” said the OP in the video caption.
“We literally had to jump into the grass verge just to avoid being hit.”
Netizens concerned by truck on shared path
The incident has drawn reactions from concerned netizens, with one noting that the driver seemed to be “driving faster than expected”.

The commenter also pointed out that the truck appears to be an “NParks approved vehicle”.
Meanwhile, some other netizens urged the OP to report the case to relevant authorities.

Shared paths in parks are generally intended for pedestrians and cyclists, with strict rules in place to ensure safety for all users.
The presence of a fast-moving truck has also raised concerns about enforcement and whether proper protocols were followed.
