OCBC Bank’s ATMs Offer Instant Cheque Encashment Services At A Maximum of $30,000 Per Cheque
If you want to see your money immediately from your cheques, and can’t stand waiting in line at the bank to encash them, OCBC has got you covered.
Since Feb 2020, OCBC Bank has rolled out its “next-generation” ATMs at 23 branches.
These ATMs allow you to instantly get cash from your cheques — up to a maximum of $30,000 in a single cheque — by depositing them straight into the ATM.

Thanks to this upgrade, the average cheque encashment transaction time has now been reduced to under 3 minutes.
Customers now save 60% of their time from not having to queue.
Digital Ambassadors also perform security checks and verifications on mobile tablets in real time to ensure that security is not compromised.
These ambassadors are staff who have undergone an intensive training programme to fulfill the requirements of their role.
Encash your cheques at OCBC Bank with these simple steps
To date, the ATMs have already processed cheque encashments totalling nearly $17 million.
Customers just need to follow these simple steps:
- Insert ATM card and enter your PIN
- Select “cash from cheque”
- Enter the cheque amount
- The digital ambassador will verify the cheque information and insert the cheque into the cheque slot
- Confirm the transaction on the ATM screen
- Choose note denominations (For SME-issued cash cheques)
- Provide declaration on usage and purpose of $1,000 notes if applicable
- Select “receipt” or “no receipt”
- Get the cash

Besides cheque encashment, the ATMs also offer other over-the-counter services so customers can avoid waiting in line.
These services include cash deposits, cash withdrawals above the daily ATM withdrawal limits, simultaneous cash and coin deposits, updating of customers’ personal details, and account- and card-related requests.
