Sembawang Cleaner Hailed On Social Media After Residents Noticed His Work Ethic

Sembawang Cleaner Praised By Residents For Hard Work Under Heat

Throughout the ‘Circuit Breaker’, town council workers are still maintaining our HDB blocks, ensuring they don’t fall into disarray.

One of these cleaners was seen taking a 5-minute break under the shade in Sembawang, and a resident shared the picture on the ‘Sayang Sembawang’ Facebook page to thank him for his hard work during this time.

“Meticulous worker” takes break under shade

The unnamed man has apparently been working for long hours in the brutal Singapore heat. Anyone who’s been here in the past few weeks will know how unforgiving the heat has been recently.

Despite this, residents said that he was “always hard at work”, and “meticulous in cleaning every corner” of the area.

Even as most of us can afford to take refuge from the sun at home, void decks and other shady areas are mostly off-limits to discourage social gathering.

This leaves the worker with only a tree for shade. You’ll notice that the sitting areas at the void deck are cordoned off with red tape.

The resident was able to snap this picture during one of his rare breaks, as he’s hard at work the rest of the time.

Residents thankful to Sembawang cleaner for tidying up common areas

Sayang Sembawang expressed their heartfelt thanks to the conservancy workers at the various Town Councils.

They encourage residents to give a simple ‘hi’ and ‘thank you’ so that they can continue to do their best.

After all, it’s the least we can do to thank them for their efforts as they toil far away from their families and friends, not knowing when they can return.

You can even buy them a drink as thanks for their hard work. Kudos to the cleaners who are keeping our common areas tidy, be it during the ‘Circuit Breaker’ or after.
