Serangoon Slashing Involved Samurai Sword, 7 Men Have Been Arrested
A 27-year-old man was attacked brutally in Little India on Wednesday (25 Jul).
Worse still, the assault occurred in broad daylight along 202 Serangoon Road at about 2.20pm.
7 Singaporean men, aged 17 to 28 have just been arrested today (26 Jul) by the police in relation to the case, just 19 hours after the assault.
Vicious attack
The injuries afflicted on the victim are believed to have been carried out with a kitchen knife and a samurai sword.
He suffered from various slashes on these areas of his body:
- Back of his head
- Body
- Hands
- Legs
Assailants then made a quick escape via a car.
The coordinated attack saw 4 men running past Broadway Hotel, where they jumped into a car parked near a fire hydrant to make their escape, according to eyewitness accounts.
Victim survived, but sustained multiple injuries
The man was depicted lying prone next to a bus stop, surrounded by police officers who stepped in at the scene.
Tan Tock Seng Hospital is where the victim is currently residing, after being taken conscious to the hospital for treatment.
Suspects arrested after 19-hour manhunt
An islandwide manhunt was conducted after the shocking assault.
Our police managed to snag the suspects at Block 26 Sin Ming Industrial Estate, near Corporation Road, in under a day.
