Singaporeans capture photos of snakes courting in forest
Two nature enthusiasts have captured high-definition shots of snakes courting in the forested area of north-west Singapore.
The two king cobras were spotted sharing a “romantic moment” in the forest on Monday (24 June) evening.

51-year-old Rovena Chow and 23-year-old Toh Jun De shared footage of the reptiles courting on the Singapore Wildlife Sightings Facebook page, which garnered the praise of other animal lovers.
Snakes spotted courting in forest
On Tuesday (25 June), Ms Chow shared the National Geographic-worthy clips of the reptiles on Facebook.
The Facebook post included four clips of what she called a “romancing moment”, captured with the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Ms Chow and Mr Toh came across the king cobras intertwined amongst the forest’s fallen leaves and soil.

Speaking to MS News, Ms Chow shared that the encounter was “unexpected” as it was the first time she had seen a snake courting.
She added that she did not want to disclose the location of the sighting in order to protect the reptiles.
Shots captured ‘intimate’ moment
Ms Chow and Mr Toh continued to observe the two snakes, capturing more detailed photos and videos of the courting session.

The snakes were seemingly unfazed by the presence of humans during their “intimate” moment as they showed no signs of stopping.
Many nature lovers on Facebook were mesmerised by the footage, thanking Ms Chow and Mr Toh for sharing the encounter.
