Singapore Police Force (SPF) amuses netizens with hilarious Instagram reel on traffic law
A hilarious Instagram reel promoting traffic law and safety posted by the Singapore Police Force has recently caught the hearts of netizens online.
The reel, which was posted on Saturday (12 Oct), depicts reckless driving and how the SPF wishes they would “prevent wrong acts”, featuring a superhero Traffic Police officer rescuing the situation.
At the time of writing, the reel has garnered over 4,600 likes, with many netizens applauding the creativity of the ad.
New SPF IG reel promotes traffic law adherence during Halloween
Specifically made for the upcoming Halloween season, the reel was captioned: “Don’t let spooky surprises catch you! Follow traffic laws!”
Set appropriately to Madison Beer’s song “Reckless”, the video starts with a shot of the inside of a seemingly moving car. A woman who is dressed up for Halloween is driving the car while drinking an alcoholic beverage and using her phone.
After a second, a Traffic Police officer appears at the driver’s side window, one arm outstretched in front of him as though he was flying.
The Traffic Police officer cum flying superhero then wagged a finger at the driver, indicating that she was committing a Traffic Law offence by drinking and texting while driving. The officer then seemingly ‘flies’ away.
The video then pans out to show the behind-the-scenes of the video. But instead of an actual moving car, it shows four SPF officers creating the impression of a moving car.
One officer is shaking the back of the car to emulate the car’s movement, whilst another is seen waving a large torch to create the effect of passing streetlights. Another offer, lying flat on the ground, is seen waving a tree branch to show the passing of trees as the car “drives” past.
Meanwhile, the “flying” Traffic Police superhero is seen not flying, not even riding, but walking beside the car.
An in-video text above the scene says: “How we wish to prevent all the wrong acts.”
Netizens applaud SPF reel for its creativity
The Instagram reel has caught the heart of Singaporean netizens. Many found the reel hilarious.
Some applauded the creativity that went into the video.
Others celebrated the officers involved in the reel, with one netizen saying that they deserve a “good performance bonus” for the performance that “left no crumbs”.
