A male motorcyclist stops to pick up the crying boy and passes him to a female motorcyclist.
Before them, there were no adults seen in the immediate vicinity of the child.
Started from dispute between boy’s parents
According to 101.7 XFM Bukidnon, a concerned citizen left the boy, believed to be a year old, in the custody of Dauis Municipal Police Station.
When claiming the toddler, the mother — reportedly a minor — explained that she left the boy on the roadside following a quarrel with her live-in partner.
She said she had asked him not to go to work as it was their child’s birthday.
However, he reportedly still did, which resulted in the dispute.
Authorities investigating incident
The police have filed a case against the boy’s parents and are investigating the incident.
SOLID FM 92.3 Cebu City also reported that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is assessing the situation and will assist to ensure the child’s safety.
According to local reports, the baby is now under the care of his grandfather.
