Boy allegedly forced to do 800 squats after failing to submit assignment
A Facebook post from a distraught father in Thailand has gone viral after his son was hospitalised following a traumatic incident in school.
The 13-year-old was allegedly forced to perform 800 squats by a teacher for failing to hand in his assignment.
At the time of writing, the boy, Otto (name transliterated from Thai), is undergoing emergency medical treatment.

Additionally, he mentioned that such extreme physical exertion may lead to serious injuries.
He went on to suggest that the school should consider assigning community service tasks, like cleaning restrooms or collecting litter, instead.
Boy advised to rest completely for full recovery
While initial blood test results indicate normal kidney function, the boy’s family is waiting for the final results of muscle enzyme tests to determine the extent of internal damage.
Otto is advised to avoid walking for at least three days.
Additionally, doctors have also instructed him to keep his legs elevated and drink at least three litres of water daily to prevent further complications.
Parents expressed concern about teacher’s behaviour
The father, Mr Adisak, complained that the whole family had been affected by the situation.

“I cannot go to sell my goods, and his younger sibling cannot go to school. His mother is heartbroken, as she is living far away and unable to do anything,” he stated.
The father also questioned how the teacher would react if his son suffered kidney failure, acute muscle breakdown, or disability.
Father confirms son performed all 800 reps
Mr Adisak told MS News in a statement that the incident happened on 2 Feb.
He confirmed that his son completed the 800 reps he was instructed to.
When asked whether the teacher had a history of inflicting excessive punishments, the father revealed that a nurse examined two female students from the same school with similar symptoms a week earlier, raising further questions about the school’s disciplinary practices.
However, he was unsure whether it was from the same teacher who punished his son.
He intends to take every action against teacher
Additionally, he expressed his intention of taking every possible action against the teacher to seek justice for his son.
