Shaw’s Servers Broke Due To BTS Movie ‘Burn The Stage’
Shortly after local BTS fans proved their love for the popular K-pop band by queuing 5 days in advance for concert tickets, Singapore’s ARMY has done it again.
They reportedly managed to “break” Shaw Theatre’s ticketing server islandwide, in their attempts to snag tickets to BTS’ new movie “Burn The Stage”.
Breaking records & the Internet
Due to volume of requests, many ARMY members were greeted by this screen when they went online to book tickets for the movie on Tuesday (7 Nov).
Users on the mobile version of the system also shared that they were stuck on the following screen — unable to purchase tickets.
BTS fans tweet their disappointment
Fans who were camping online for tickets took to Twitter to air their woes about the system overloading.
Offline & online queues
Well if the online method wasn’t working, what about walking into a cinema to buy tickets instead?
Let’s just say many BTS fans had the same idea.
Here’s a short Twitter video depicting how NEX’s Shaw Theatre played host to snaking queues of young fans eager to get their hands on a movie ticket.

Queuing is in ARMY’s DNA
Though servers were down for about an hour, MS News understands that some fans have succeeded in entering Shaw Theatre’s servers.
However, based on our 3 attempts, it still seems like the server is down at the time of writing.
Singaporeans who’re looking to book a movie ticket tonight should definitely consider alternative cinemas.
As for all the ARMYs who have yet to buy your movie tickets, may the server odds be ever in your favour.
Let the clicking wars begin.
