Cambodian princess reportedly going to South Korea to train as K-pop idol
Cambodia’s 12-year-old princess Jenna Norodom, is rumoured to be heading to South Korea to train as a K-pop idol, according to Chinese news reports.
Speculation began after the princess joined K’ve Entertainment, a South Korean-owned entertainment agency based in Cambodia in 2022.
In a 2023 interview with Korean news channel YTN, Princess Norodom shared her love for all K-pop songs and dances, which sparked her interest in K-pop.
She also referred to herself as a “K-pop evangelist” and expressed her plans to be active in South Korea.
K-pop CEO praises princess for talents
In the same interview, K’ve Entertainment’s CEO, Na Yoon-jung, explained that the princess attended one of their events and expressed her desire to “collaborate” with the agency.
The CEO said that Princess Norodom has “a lot of potential” and “talents”, highlighting that her dance skills go beyond traditional Cambodian styles and K-pop.
The Princess was also praised for being a fast learner and dedication, despite her busy schedule.
Cambodian princess worked as an entertainer for six years
According to Lifestyle Asia, the half-French, half-Cambodian princess has been working as an actress, singer, and dancer since she was six years old.
She has appeared in popular Khmer television shows and even released her own song, titled “You Da One”, in 2022.
Earlier this year, she won the “Best Newcomer Actress” award at the 2nd Cambodia-Asia Film Festival for her performance in the horror film, “The Night Curse of Reatrei”.
Princess Norodom is also a social media influencer, with tens of millions of followers across various platforms.
