Pregnant stray dog shot with fishing dart receives life-saving surgery
A heavily pregnant stray dog in Buriram, Thailand, was cruelly shot with a fishing dart, which pierced 20cm deep into its left hip.

The canine, nearing delivery, was found weak and in distress.
Concerns of infection prompted urgent medical intervention, but the cost of treatment remains unpaid.
Rescue team finds dog after reports of cruelty
On Wednesday (4 Dec), a rescue unit responded to reports of a stray dog injured by a fishing dart.
The unit’s head tracked the animal to a bush, where it was found lying in pain.
Distressed by the situation, he stressed the urgency of finding medical care for the dog, a well-known stray in the area.
Veterinarian steps in despite unpaid costs
The rescue team contacted a local clinic, where the attending veterinarian performed surgery to remove the dart.

The operation was successful, but the total cost — including medication and surgery — amounted to 6,000 baht (approximately S$235).
With no one coming forward to cover the expenses, the vet is keeping the dog at the clinic for further care.
The identity of the person responsible for shooting the dart remains unknown.
