The victim, an 80-year-old tourist from Hubei province – the epicentre of the outbreak – had reportedly been hospitalised in Bichat Hospital in Paris since 25 Jan.

He was accompanied by his daughter, who also tested positive for Covid-19, according to Euronews.

11 Covid-19 cases in France so far

To date, 11 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in France, the 2nd most in Europe. Germany has the most confirmed cases on the continent, with 16.

Apart from today’s case, other Covid-19 deaths reported outside mainland China are 1 each in Hong Kong, Japan, and the Philippines.
