Choose The Cabin Colour Of MRT’s New 66 Trains
If you find your morning MRT commute to work dull and dreary, you can now contribute to a brighter outlook in the near future.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) added a new exhibit to Singapore Mobility Gallery that allows visitors to view the interior of trains in different colours using virtual reality (VR) headsets.
This is part of LTA’s efforts to get feedback from the public about the 66 trains that will be added to the North-South and East-West lines in 2021.
‘Vote for’ MRT colours through VR headset
Take a trip into the life-sized train exhibit at the gallery to experience a virtual reality (VR) version of future trains.
The VR exhibit allows users to select multiple colour schemes for the seats.
You can even choose between two different designs of the trains exterior .
MRT may include touch-screen displays for commuters
Other than the VR experience, LTA is also looking for feedback regarding potential additions of touch-screen interfaces.
The interface will allow passengers to use various services to make travelling a more enjoyable experience.
You may look forward to the following on the touch-screen interface:
- Interactive maps
- Location-based promotions
- News
- Games & entertainment
Just try not to miss your stop while toying with it.
Online feedback form available
If you want to have a say in the colours of the new trains, but can’t find time to go to the gallery, you can submit your feedback online here.
Hopefully, there will be more colourful trains in the future. And if LTA is generous, maybe they’ll let us choose from a few more daring designs.
