Tan Tock Seng Hospital Nurses Plead Citizens To Stay Home While Healthcare Staff Fight Covid-19
Earlier this month, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong asked citizens to carry on with their lives in the Covid-19 landscape, albeit more cautiously.
However, in light of latest developments, perhaps it is best if we stay at home instead.
In a Facebook post on 20 Mar, a Tan Tock Seng Hospital nurse urged citizens to stay home for the sake of healthcare staff who are toiling on the frontline.
She reiterates that Covid-19 is now a pandemic, and asks for people to stop spreading germs so that their loved ones can stay safe.

Referencing the rest of the world as a lesson, she highlights a key takeaway that medical supplies are not infinite.
As resources are limited, the nurse preached the age-old logic of prevention being better than cure — which strikes very true in today’s context.
She concludes by reminding us not to take things for granted, and that we should rally together and beat the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the very end, the nurse came up with a very sensible hashtag: #westayhereforyoupleasestayhomeforus
Healthcare workers battling on the frontline already have a lot on their plate. Let’s not add to their burden by being socially irresponsible.
Support them by keeping yourself and your loved ones safe today.
