Python naps on child’s bed in M’sia, prompts mum to call authorities
During colder weather, snakes often sneak into human houses to find warmer places to rest. One python did just that and napped atop a child’s bed in Malaysia.

Upon discovering the snake, the child’s mum quickly called authorities for assistance.
Python takes a nap
According to local authorities in Labuan, a woman called them at 3.45pm on 15 Oct to notify them of a python sleeping on her child’s bed. A rescue team was immediately sent to safely remove the large snake from the premises.

Pictures taken by authorities show the python curled up and hidden underneath blankets. The darker mattress also gave the snake a level of camouflage.
Wearing safety gear and using tools, authorities were able to capture the python and place it safely into a cloth bag to dispose of it elsewhere, reported Sinchew Daily News.

Colder weather brings snakes indoors
According to Mahidol University, snakes will seek warmer places to take refuge in when it rains or when the weather begins to cool down.
Because snakes cannot generate their own body heat, they will often hide inside human homes where it’s warmer. They prefer damp and dark areas, like the kitchen or under the roof.
Snakes have poor eyesight and will track their prey through motion, so it is advised to remain calm and stay still as much as possible when encountering one. If possible, confine the snake safely in an isolated area of the house and then contact authorities for safe disposal.
