5 Rabbit Adoption Groups On Facebook Let You Meet Your Next Long-Eared Furkid
Whenever we chance upon rabbits in a pet shop, we would often find ourselves gushing over their cuteness.
And if you really love bunnies, you might even feel the urge to bring them home increasing by the minute.
However, these bunnies can cost up to $400 each at commercial pet shops. So most of the time, you may just end up walking away.
How about adopting one? It’s not difficult, considering there are multiple Facebook groups dedicated to rehoming pet bunnies.
To save you the trouble, we curated a list of 5 rabbit adoption Facebook groups in Singapore where you can adopt a bunny from.
1. House Rabbit Society Singapore (HRSS)
Charged with the mission to reduce unwanted bunnies and improve the lives of rabbits through education, HRSS fosters abandoned bunnies and prepares them for adoption.
All HRSS rescued bunnies reside in the homes of volunteers. These bunnies are well taken care of, and are ensured to be in good health.
As HRSS take their bunnies’ welfare very seriously, the adoption process can be a little stricter than that of other rabbit shelters. You can view the adoption process here.
You can also check them out on Facebook or on their website.
2. Bunny Wonderland
Bunny Wonderland is a private rabbit welfare group that aims to improve accurate care for rabbits by providing knowledge to bunny parents.
Apart from housing rescued rabbits, Bunny Wonderland also has a “Knowledge Corner” on their website that consolidates a list of care tips for new bunny parents.
To adopt a bunny at Bunny Wonderland, you can check out the adoption process here. Otherwise, you may visit them on their Facebook page or their website.
3. Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals (SPCA)
SPCA is a registered animal welfare charity in Singapore. With the aim of preventing cruelty to animals, SPCA has their fair share of adoptables too.
Even though SPCA is mostly known for rescued dogs and cats, more often than not, you can find some rabbits there too.
If you’re interested in adopting a rabbit from SPCA, you can visit their shelter in Choa Chu Kang to get up close and personal with your potential pet.
Address: 50 Sungei Tengah Rd, Singapore 699012
Opening hours: 11am-4pm
Before you go, you can also learn more about their adoption process here.
4. Bunnies for Adoption Singapore
Bunnies for Adoption Singapore (BAS) might not be a name that you hear as frequently as compared to HRSS or SPCA.
Similar to the other groups, BAS aims to provide a second home for abandoned, neglected, or rescued bunnies.
BAS has a Facebook group that serves as a platform for like-minded bunny parents to discuss and share pictures of their bunnies. Occasionally, you might also find posts put up by owners who wish to give their bunnies up for adoption.
The bunnies’ owners will then personally assess the suitability of potential adopters.
5. Purely Adoptions
Purely Adoptions provides a platform for families to turn to when they can no longer commit to their pets.
They’re passionate about reducing the number of abandoned pets by re-homing, fostering and adopting them.
The adoption process for Purely Adoptions is rather interesting as you will get a 1-week trial home stay.
That means that you will be able to bring the bunny home, bond with it, then decide if having a bunny is really your thing.
If you’re interested in adopting from Purely adoptions, you can view the procedure here.
