Scoot flight to Bali returns to Changi Airport after smell of smoke detected in cabin

Scoot flight bound for Bali returns to Changi Airport

A Scoot flight bound for Bali on 30 April returned to Changi Airport shortly after takeoff after the smell of smoke was detected in the cabin.

Flight TR280 left at 7.33am and landed back in Changi Airport at 8.27am, “as a precaution” according to Scoot.

However, the budget airline did not disclose the source of the smell.

Data from the flight tracking site FlightAware indicates that the aircraft was a Boeing 787-9 (789).

The routine flight was scheduled to leave Singapore at 7.50am and reach Bali around 10am.

Passengers later deployed on a different flight

According to Scoot, affected passengers were provided with meal vouchers for the inconvenience. Another aircraft was also arranged to transport them to Bali.

The replacement flight departed from Changi at 12.40pm and arrived in Denpasar shortly after 3pm.
