You may recall a touching story about Sim Lim Tower’s ice cream uncle receiving a TV as a companion to tide him through the Circuit Breaker.
We’re happy to report that Mr Ng is finally back at work, doing what he does best.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday (27 May), Happy People Helping People (HPHP) shared that the 87-year-old is once again scooping ice cream for his fans.

Returns to work at Sim Lim Tower
In the Mandarin print article, the headline declares that Mr Ng has ‘重出江湖’ – translated in English as ‘made a rousing comeback’.
He has resumed the manning of his ice cream stall and is usually near the entrance of Sim Lim Tower daily — come rain or shine.
As ice cream sales are his main source of income, netizens have pledged to offer their support to him if they live close by.
Ice cream uncle was gifted a TV, meals & allowance
As Mr Ng stays alone, concerned netizens chipped in early May to gift him a brand new Panasonic television on 11 May.
They had also been providing sponsorship for his meals with a small allowance to help him out as he was unable to work.
