SingPost Package Jams Mailbox With Package
Every seasoned online shopper must have experienced the excitement of waiting for their lobangs to arrive.
But to see your beloved parcel right in front of you, only to be unable to retrieve it? Now that’s a sure way to get consumers all riled up.
On Wednesday (22 May), a Redditor shared an unfortunate experience where a long-awaited package was stuck in the mailbox. #SoNearYetSoFar
Redditor allegedly ordered book covers online
According to comments on the thread, the Redditor had allegedly ordered customised leather book covers from an online store.
One day, when the Redditor was checking her letterbox, she was rudely greeted by a huge package containing her book covers.
But that wasn’t it. The package was apparently so huge that it filled up her entire mailbox.
Unable to remove the box from the mailbox, the Redditor proceeded to contact SingPost’s customer service.
After a long 45-min phone call, a staff replied over the phone that they’ll get back in “3 working days”.
Redditors offered sage advice
Not knowing what to do, the shopper took to the Singapore subreddit to seek help.
Fellow Redditors soon jumped in the discussion and gave sage advice to this suay Redditor.
Keep calm and cut box
In some situations, sacrifices are needed so for this case, simply keep calm and cut open the box with a sharp object.
In fact, one Redditor claims that was what exactly he did to get the contents out of his package.
However, his idea wasn’t accepted as the original Redditor feared the act would cue frightful looks from his neighbours.
We would too if we saw our neighbours doing that

Simply leave a note
Another Redditor provided more practical advice and suggested that the original Redditor leave a note to alert the postman on duty about the situation.
Utilise the power of social media
Another netizen suggested harnessing the power of social media to get the problem solved and also earn some cash while doing so.
Happy ending for the parcel
Given the number of solutions offered, you might now be wondering if the Redditor eventually got the parcel out.
Here’s a piece of good news — yes, the parcel was eventually freed from the clutches of the mailbox.
The Redditor updated that a postman came to their doorstep with the parcel in hand a day later.
While we wonder which solution worked out in the end, this Redditor has a fairly logical theory.
We’re truly heartened that there’s a happy ending for the Redditor and the parcel.
