Delivery Rider Casually Steals Phone From Kedai Kopi In Paya Lebar On 30 Apr
Singapore is famous for being a safe country where residents can leave anything unattended in public without worrying about them getting stolen.
However, it is worth noting that theft incidents have occurred over the last few weeks.
Recently, a man left his phone on a table while cleaning up a stall in Paya Lebar, only to find it missing when he returned.
CCTV footage showed that a man — allegedly a delivery rider — had stolen the phone with a sleight of hand movement.
Man loses phone after leaving it on table
Mr Cau, a Malaysian man, recently took to several Facebook groups to share the incident, which occurred at about 10.30pm on 30 Apr at 12 Haig Road.
According to him, he was cleaning up the stall and had left his light blue iPhone 13 Pro Max on a table.
Despite leaving the phone unattended, Mr Cau maintained that he didn’t stray too far away from where the phone was placed.
However, his phone was nowhere to be found when he returned.

At the start of the footage, the man was seen seated at the table where the phone was left, fiddling with his own phone.

He then looks away.
Appeals for information on alleged thief
In another clip, the man was seen checking his surroundings.
This time, he casually placed his hand above the unattended phone and made away with it in one smooth motion.
A picture shared by Mr Cau shows the man holding what appears to be a bag of food and a relatively ‘thick’ phone.
In light of his missing phone, Mr Cau is appealing to the public for information on the alleged thief.
Mr Cau also shared that he’s unable to contact the man via the phone number provided on the delivery app as it has been turned off.
Anyone with information on the man’s identity may contact Mr Cau via the phone number in his Facebook post.
