Mother & son block empty VivoCity parking lot
Parking lots in VivoCity can be incredibly difficult to secure on weekend nights, and it seems some would go over and beyond to ensure they have a lot.
On Sunday (3 Nov) evening, a woman was filmed standing in front of an empty VivoCity parking lot to reserve the spot.
A young boy, presumably the woman’s son, stood next to her in the middle of the parking lot.
Woman blocking parking lot argues with passenger
In a video posted on the SG Road Vigilante’s Facebook page, a car was seen in position trying to reverse into the parking lot.
However, the mother and her son stood in front of the parking lot, preventing the vehicle from reversing further.
A passenger even got out of the car to reason with the woman. As there is no audio in the footage, the nature of their interaction is unclear.
However, the woman gestured her hand frantically, likely trying to explain why they were blocking the parking lot.
The passenger then returned to the car. A few moments later, the son can be seen flinching and covering his ears while the mother pulls him behind her.

At the end of the one-minute video, the pair remained rooted in the parking lot.
Netizens criticise mother for involving son
Unsurprisingly, many netizens criticised the mother for roping her son into blocking the parking lot.
One sarcastically referred to her actions as the “best parenting ever”.

Others criticised her for being manipulative by bringing her son along — seemingly an attempt to gain drivers’ sympathy.
