Aloysius Pang Was Loved By All Who Worked With Him

Update (29 Jan, 11am): No. 7 has been updated to reflect that the first fan in question is actually Singaporean bowler, Remy Ong. We apologise for the error.

Singaporean actor Aloysius Pang passed away on Wed night (23 Jan) from injuries sustained last Sat while on reservist in New Zealand.

The tributes that poured in for him after news of his death broke were heartbreaking, but more importantly, they show us how well-loved he was in this life.

1. Broken hearts

Benjamin Kheng, a Singaporean actor and singer who is also a member of The Sam Willows, posted a selfie with Mr Pang with a broken heart in the caption saying “Brother”.

2. Brothers in the next life

Fellow actor Shane Pow wrote, “It wasn’t enough being brothers with you this life. Let’s be brothers again next life. I love you my big brother.”

3. We’ll see you in the future

Mediacorp actor Desmond Tan added, “Bro, you are an important chapter in all our lives. Nothing is wrong, just that you went ahead of us like you always do as a human and actor. We will see you in the next life.”

4. Thank you for bringing sunshine

Actress Carrie Wong said, “I always say to you, ‘Why is it you again?’ but really, I want to say, it was my good fortune to have worked with you so many times. Thank you for always bringing sunshine to others. Always remember you. I’ll see you next time.”

5. Goodbye, daddy

Child actress Zemily posted an endearing image of Mr Pang holding her by hand while walking down a flight of steps, calling him her “Daddy” and saying it was an honour to have worked with him.

6. The rest was history

The Changing Point Artistes, an artiste management company in Singapore, depicted how personable Aloysius was that he facilitated a collaboration together with NoonTalk Media.

He called them up to work on a passion project together, and “the rest was history”.

7. “You will always be remembered”

Singaporean bowler and former world champion Remy Ong also penned a praise for the young actor with whom he had worked with in Mediacorp drama 29th February.

He praised Mr Pang’s dedication to his work and eager-to-learn attitude in asking him for tips to improve his bowling skills.

8. A relationship that could have been so much more

He was evidently well-loved by all his family, including his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s sister.

Hayley Woo revealed in an Instagram post that Mr Pang was already saving up to propose to her sister, Jayley Woo, when he reaches 31 years old.

The most heartbreaking post of all, on Jayley Woo’s Instagram, says that while they weren’t fated to be man and wife in this life, she’ll always love him.

Family requests for privacy

His family has written on his Instagram account to “seek everybody’s kind understanding” that they are “unable to comment further”.

As we mourn his death, let’s also seek to remember all the good he has brought to those around him.

We hope his family will be given the space they need to cope emotionally.

May all his loved ones stay strong during this difficult period and take comfort in how well-loved Mr Pang was in this life.
