Stray Cat From Clementi Has Her Tail Broken In 3 Different Places
Every now and then there are stray or abandoned cats found below HDB blocks.
Coco, a cat from Clementi is one of them. However, she is not just a stray or abandoned cat, she is a cat who is suffering greatly and is in urgent need of help.
According to Facebook page Purrs & Meows (P&M) post, Coco’s tail was broken in 3 different places.
P&M told MS News that the tip of Coco’s tail had “fallen off”, the top part of the tail was broken and near the base was another break.

Amputation is necessary
P&M says that Coco’s tail must be amputated as it is infected. If the tail is not amputated, Coco may become paralysed and face bladder issues.
She also has a large exposed wound beneath her tail. P&M is currently managing the wound and hopes that it will shrink in size as there may not be enough skin to cover up the injury.
So far Coco has been eating well and is receiving pain management for her wounds.
However, the cost of the amputation amounts to the high price of $3,200 and is expected to increase after a visit to the specialist scheduled for Tuesday (24 Sep).
Medical bills are expensive
The surgery and hospitalisation costs would be close to $3,200, which does not include the option of seeking a specialist to assess her and the operation that may cost $6,000.

P&M is therefore asking netizens for donations to defray the cost of the surgery. They have so far received $611.26 in donations since putting up the post on Monday (23 Sep). P&M added that they still have a long way to go to reach the minimum amount to proceed with the surgery.

Despite the serious injury, we hope Coco will make a full recovery and lead a long and healthy life ahead.
