ERP Rates At 3 Locations To Increase By S$1

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be adjusting the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates for some locations, starting later this month.

Rates at three ERP locations will hence increase by S$1 from Monday (28 Aug) onwards.

The new prices will apply during four time periods, in the morning rush hour between 8.30am and 9.30am.

Following the authority’s latest review of the ERP rates, they found that traffic has built up in July 2023.

As such, they have decided to increase the rates by S$1 at three locations starting Monday (28 Aug):

  • PIE (Adam and Mount Pleasant) – set of two gantries
  • KPE (ECP) after Defu Flyover
  • Westbound PIE before Eunos

This move is to manage traffic congestion along the various stretches of the expressways, said the LTA.

Prices upped by S$1 during morning rush hour

For the pair of two gantries along the PIE at Adam and Mount Pleasant, the ERP rates from 28 Aug onwards will be S$1 between 9am and 9.30am. Before this, these locations were not chargeable.

At the gantry located along the KPE (ECP) after the Defy Flyover, the rates will rise to S$6 between 8.30am and 9am. This is up from the previous rate of S$5.

Along the westbound PIE before Eunos, the ERP gantry will charge S$2 between 8.30am and 9am. In addition, it will also be introducing a S$1 charge between 9am and 9.30am.

The ERP rates for other timeslots and gantries remains the same.

With these new revisions, the LTA highlighted that the number of locations and timeslots charged is still lower than the number charged before the Covid-19 pandemic.

“LTA will continue to monitor traffic speeds and congestion levels closely and assess if ERP rates need to be further adjusted,” they wrote.

Previously, the LTA temporarily lowered the ERP rates at seven locations for the June holidays.
