One of the last things anyone would want to find in their food is bugs.
After purchasing crackers from a FairPrice Xtra outlet, a man was shocked to discover two live insects flying inside the sealed package.
A FairPrice group spokesperson noted that it is currently in contact with the customer. It has also initiated investigations with the supplier in question.
It added that it has not received similar complaints from other customers.
Man finds insects inside crackers bought from FairPrice
Speaking to MS News, the customer, Mr Tan, said that he purchased a pack of OB Finest Fig & Almond Specialty Crackers from NTUC FairPrice Xtra in Parkway Parade on Sunday (18 June).
As he was opening up the packaging, however, he sighted something underneath the translucent plastic cover.
To his disgust, he found two live insects crawling around inside.
“This is not our first purchase of this product,” Mr Tan said. “We do not know if there were eggs of the insects or the sort in our previous purchases.”
Mr Tan shared a video with MS News, where someone turns the package around to show that it’s unopened.
The seal on the box appears unbroken as well.
Additionally, there’s also an unidentified white powdery substance on the package.
Alarmed, Mr Tan kept the package closed and reached out to FairPrice via email.
