Stores now holding clearance sale

A clearance sale is now being held at its Holland Village and Joo Chiat branches, said the brand, adding:

Everything must go, grab a piece of Lim’s while you can.

Its website is touting discounts of up to 70% off.

Closing of Lim’s Holland Village ‘not an easy decision’

On Instagram, the three daughters of founder Lim Choo Kuan, Diana, Rachel and Audrey, said “saying goodbye was not an easy decision”.

Though they’re grateful for the support of customers, it was time for the three to “move on with our own chapters”.

Their late father, who passed away earlier this year, devoted himself to growing the company over the last five decades, they added.

Lim’s Holland Village is now one of Singapore’s “go-to furniture and decor stores, synonymous with Holland Village”, but:

All good things will come to an end.

Store is known for eclectic furnishings

Unlike contemporary furniture stores, Lim’s Holland Village is known for its crowded aisles filled with eclectic and colourful furnishings and accessories.

According to its website, its first shop was started by Mr Lim at Changi Village in the 1970s.

However, he was charmed by Holland Village and co-founded Lim’s Arts and Crafts there with his brother Chor Pian.

Those who visited the shop then would remember its shelves stacked with Asian handicrafts.

Lim’s Arts and Crafts was eventually dissolved and two companies formed: Lim’s Holland Village opened in 2016, owned by Mr Lim and his three daughters, and Lim’s Legacy, which is right next door.

Lim’s Legacy is still in operation, and besides the store in Holland Village, also has outlets in Marina Square and Leisure Park Kallang, as well as a warehouse showroom in Ubi.

Here are some things to note if you wish to visit the Holland Village outlet before it closes:
