According to Sky News, the injured individuals were promptly treated after the aircraft landed safely at Frankfurt Airport on Tuesday (12 Nov) at 10.53am local time.
A spokesperson from Lufthansa confirmed that the flight carried 329 passengers and 19 crew members at the time of the incident.
The turbulence was brief and occurred in an intertropical convergence zone, a region of low pressure around the Earth.
Following the event, Lufthansa’s special assistance team offered support to the affected passengers.
The airline’s spokesperson apologised for the inconvenience caused to the passengers. They assured that the safety of the flight “was never compromised”.
“The safety and well-being of passengers and crew members always remain Lufthansa’s top priority,” they added, emphasising the importance of wearing seat belts at all times when seated in the plane.
