While his body has since been cremated, his family members are still mourning his passing.
On Tuesday (12 May), The Straits Times (ST) reported that the deceased’s father described the murder as “very unjustified” and urged anyone with information to step forward to assist police investigations.

According to ST, the deceased, identified as Mr Tay Rui Hao, was found with fatal stab wounds along Punggol Field — just 2 streets away from where he stayed.
Prior to the attack, Mr Tay had apparently informed his father via text about his plans to go jogging that night, as he felt “cooped up at home“.
Sadly, that was the last his father heard from him.
Upon hearing about the attack, Mr Tay’s father, mother, and sister rushed to Sengkang General Hospital at around 1am on Monday (11 May). They were, however, too late.
Mr Tay’s father reportedly described the attack as “very unjustified”. He urged anyone with information regarding the attack to step forward and assist police with their investigations.

He was apparently wearing a football jersey and running shoes.
One resident recounted seeing him struggle to get to a bus stop and collapsing on a grass patch nearby.

Several violent incidents recently
There have been several violent incidents in Singapore over the past few days.
Just yesterday, the police announced that they have arrested 3 people linked to a brawl in Chinatown on Sunday (10 May).

Earlier today, 2 men were charged in court for over their alleged involvement in an attack that happened in Bishan on Sunday (10 May).
Hope the police will get to the bottom of this soon
Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family members and friends of Mr Tay. May he rest in peace.
We hope the police will get to the bottom of this and arrest whoever was responsible for this crime.
While Mr Tay’s family will no longer see him again, we hope knowing what had happened would bring them some semblance of closure.
